December 5, 2006The two-time world champion figure skater said Tuesday she hasn’t retired from competitive skating, dismissing a report from Russia. Though she isn’t doing the Grand Prix series this season, Slutskaya said she hasn’t ruled anything out, including the Russian nationals in January, AP reports.

November 8, 200627-year-old Russian champion Irina Slutskaya retires from competitive skating, the Reuters news agency reported Monday.
“I’m not sure what I’m going to do in the next five minutes but one thing is certain — I’m done with competitive skating,†she said. Slutskaya wants to take a shot at television. As the first step she has already taken part in one of the popular Russian TV shows as an anchor.
