US President George W. Bush calls the Russian leader not to be afraid of deployment of the US anti-missile shield in Europe.

“My message will be Vladimir — I call him Vladimir — that you shouldn’t fear a missile defense system,” Bush announced at a news conference in Prague today.

He said he will make his case directly to President Putin later this week on the sidelines of the G8 summit and when the Russian president will visit him in early July.

President Bush discussed the Ameriсan plans to deploy US anti-missile shield in Czechia with the Czech leadership today.

The talks were held not face-to-face, but with two Czech top officials: President Vaclav Klaus and Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek.
