Moscow will Host the 14th World Championships in Athletics
Moscow was on Tuesday elected to host the 2013 World Championships in Athletics.
The cities were chosen by the council of the international athletics federation IAAF at meetings in Mombasa, Kenya, which on Saturday staged the cross world championships.
The South Korean city of Daegu beat Brisbane and Moscow for the 2011 edition and Moscow then beat for Brisbane and Barcelona in the vote for 2013. Neither South Korea nor Russia has hosted the athletics worlds before.
The next world championships are in August in Osaka, Japan, and the 2009 event in Berlin.
