5 Dead, Dozens Wounded in Russian Aircraft Crash in Siberia
A Russian Tupolev-134 passenger jet crashed during landing in the airport of Samara on Saturday morning, killing 5 people and wounding at least 51, the RIA-Novosti news agency reports.
The agency quoted the press service of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations as saying that the aircraft conducted a harsh landing and its fuselage broke into parts. 5 people were killed by impact as the jet hit the ground and 51 sustained injuries. The aircraft carried 57 passengers and seven crew members.
The crashed jet was making a flight from the Siberian oil city of Surgut.
