Macedonian governmental delegation will be heading for Russia today for a working visit aimed at settling the Russian clearing debt to Macedonia.

Macedonian delegation, led by the Vice-Prime Minister Zoran Stavrevski, includes also Economy Minister Vera Rafajlovska and the Director of ELEM, Vlatko Chingovski, the government’s press service announced.

The goal of the visit is to wrap up the preparatory activities on signing the Agreement on Regulating the Russian Clearing Debt to Macedonia and harmonization of the planned projects that will serve as a basis for the settlement, the announcement says.

Vice-Prime Minister Stavrevski is due to meet in Moscow with the Russian Deputy Finance Minister, Sergey Storchak, who is in charge of settling the liabilities of the former USSR towards Macedonia.

In addition to state officials, representatives of the Russian energy giant Gazprom will attend the meeting.

The Russia-funded projects that will be executed as a compensation for the debt include setting up of the primary and secondary gas pipeline rings in Skopje and construction of a gas pipeline Stip-Tetovo.
