A court in Tajikistan has handed down a 23-year prison sentence to a former member of the al Qaeda terrorist network.

Tajik national Ibragim Nasriddinov, born in 1974, was convicted on charges of murder and the illegal production of weapons, the press release says.

“Nasriddinov received training at terrorist camps belonging to al Qaeda and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan on the territory of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where he learnt how to make and handle explosives,” says press release of the Tajik State National Security Committee.
