Ramzan Kadyrov, acting president of Chechen Republic, blamed exiled billionaire Boris Berezovsky for the deaths of former spy Alexander Litvinenko and reporter Anna Politkovskaya. Berezovsky organized both murders, Kadyrov said after a meeting with government officials in the Chechen capital Grozny today, state television reported. Berezovsky denied the allegations.

“This man killed Litvinenko and Politkovskaya,” RIA Novosti news agency cited Kadyrov as saying. “He wanted to damage the state’s image.”
