Russian Missiles in Iran are not a Threat - Sergei Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that the TOR-M1 anti-aircraft defence system which Russia delivered to Iran one month ago does not represent ‘any threat’.
“The contract for these missiles was signed a long time ago. These are simply defence weapons, their range is approximately 30 kilometres, which does not constitute a threat”, said Lavrov, as quoted by the Itar-Tass news agency.
At the beginning of January, Russia delivered surface-air TOR-M1 missile systems to Iran in accordance with a 700 mln usd agreement signed in December for the delivery of 29 systems.
