Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) stopped the activities of 27 intelligence officers in 2006, and 89 agents of foreign secret services, FSB director Nikolai Patrushev said at a meeting with reporters of Russian media on Tuesday.
“This year, Russia registered the activity of some 40 foreign secret services with respect to Russia, interrupted the activities by 27 career intelligence officers and 89 agents of foreign secret services,” Patushev said.
“Of those, one professional intelligence officer and eight agents have been caught red-handed; and another 21 foreigners involved in secret services’ work, have been expelled from the country,” the FSB director said.
