Russian mobile handset retailer Tsifrograd has increased the number of its outlets 37% since January 1 to 1,300 as of Monday, the company said Monday.

Tsifrograd operated in 378 Russian cities and towns as of Monday, compared with 270 as of January 1, the company said, adding that it currently operated in 75 of Russia’s 88 constituent regions.

Tsifrograd controls 10%-11% of the Russian mobile handset retail market, compared with 9% as of January 1, according to the company’s own estimates.

Of the total number of outlets, 920 outlets are franchises, while the remaining 380 outlets are owned by the company, Tsifrograd said.

In 2005 Tsifrograd’s sales amounted to U.S. $450 million.
