Gazprom May Produce Gas in Iran
Gazprom may engage not only in prospecting for gas in Iran, but also in gas production, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy Ivan Materov told reporters.
“Chances are high that Gazprom will engage in production,” Materov said. However, he declined to name the dates of possible contracts or their prices.
“Iran is interested in setting up a joint venture with Gazprom, but it wants a bigger share; it’s a matter of negotiations,” he said.
Tehran is hosting a session of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental economic cooperation commission.
