Bateman Engineering said that it has won a $531 million contract for the design, engineering, supply, construction and commissioning of a diamond treatment plant to be built in the Arkhangelsk region of Russia for OJSC Severalmaz, AFX News reported today.
The contract is part of an overall project to increase the capacity of the Lomonosov Mine to 5.6 mln tonnes per annum, said Bateman in a statement.
Sivi Gounden, Bateman chief executive, said the deal was one of the largest ever won by the firm.

“As well as confirming our leadership in diamonds it reflects our ability following the successful AIM listing to bid for and win much larger contracts than had previously been possible,” Gounden said.
