The Pushkinsky federal court of St. Petersburg has convicted Ruslan Melnik, who, according to the investigators was one of the leaders of the extremist group Mad Crowd.

Melnik was found guilty of organizing an extremist group and of inciting ethnic and racial hatred and sentenced to three and a half years in an open village-type penitentiary.

The Mad Crowd group Melnik had set up cultivated nationalist and racist attitude to Jews, minor ethnic groups in the Caucasus, as well as people of Asian and African descent.
