Russia’s dry cargo vessel Medinenkai has taken a North Korean schooner in tow after its propeller got entangled in fishing nets, a spokesman for Vladivostok’s rescue coordination center told Interfax on Friday.

“Russian fishermen spotted a vessel adrift 70 nautical mines from the Korean Peninsula and offered their assistance. The schooner is being towed to Nakhodka,” he said.

The vessels are expected to arrive at the port on Saturday morning. Russian specialists will help the North Korean crew repair their schooner.
