Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova has personally caught a 10-year old boy who tried to steal her mobile phone in a Starbucks cafe in Madrid.

Sharapova wrote about the incident in her blog. She was at Starbucks when three 10-year old boys entered the store carrying newspapers. One of the kids came to Sharapova’s tabl, put the newspaper on top of her phone, which was on the table, then grabbed it and rushed out of the cafe. “Let me tell you, I have never ran so fast in my life. I caught the kid, and with the help of a Starbucks worker, I got my phone back,” Sharapova wrote.

Sharapova played the WTA tourament in Madrid on a 19-match winning streak and was the only player to win all three round-robin matches, but she lost to Justine Henin-Hardenne in the semi-finals.
