A 60-year-old resident of Krasnodar Region in South Russia was rushed to an intensive care ward of a local hospital with poisoning after she had eaten a hashish pie by mistake, the Interfax news agency reported Thursday.

Alexander Rudich, chief spokesman for the regional department of the federal anti-drug agency, explained to the agency: “A young resident of the village [where the incident occurred] was planning to send the drug to his friend in St. Petersburg.

”To be on the safe side he made hash oil from marijuana and cooked pies using it. At that moment his acquaintances, a married couple, were planning a trip to St. Petersburg and agreed to deliver the parcel. But as the couple failed to buy tickets and postponed the trip the present was stored in their home where it caught the elderly woman’s eye.“
