Russia Will Raise Money to Fight AIDS
The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Security Mikhail Grishankov reported that Russia is going to increase state allocations to fight AIDS by 15 percent next year.
A round-table meeting on the question of AIDS fighting took place in Moscow on Tuesday. The official also said that AIDS prevention and treatment budget will be increased 20 times in 2007.
At the present time Russian authorities pay serious attention to the AIDS problem. As a result in October of the present year the government commission was formed to ensure effective solution of problems of AIDS prevention and treatment.
Bill Gates, who also took part in the Tuesday round-table meeting in Moscow said that he allocates this year 500 million dollars to fight AIDS.
