Egypt is ready to provide a free economic zone with different benefits for Russian businessmen, Hosni Mubarak said today after his talks with Vladimir Putin on Thursday.

“We are going to give Russian businessmen a free economic zone in order they work in privileged conditions and develop different productions – of oil, gas, pharmaceuticals and others,” the Egyptian President said.

“Egypt is of interest for us, it is one of priorities in the international policy, and it remains one of the most important partners in the Arab, Islamic world,” Putin said.

He said that he had discussed at face-to-face talks with Mubarak “some questions of bilateral cooperation and the most sensitive problems of the international agenda”.
