American Family Adopted Four Russian Sisters
The Simmons family has adopted two teenage Russian girls: 15-year-old Svieta and 14-year-old Natasha to unite the whole family of four girls from the Russian city of Vladivostok, the Associated Press news agency reported on November 1.
The teenagers arrived at their new home near Park City this week. The Simmons had adopted their 4-year-old and 6-year-old sisters lately and four siblings had never met before because the older girls were removed from their home in Vladivostok before the younger ones were born. The fifth sister is mentally disable and lives in one of the Russian institutions.
“This was not about saving the world. It was about keeping biological siblings together.†John Simmons said.
The parents are learning Russian because their new daughters don’t speak much English. Meanwhile the total number of Russian kids in the family is 5 including a Russian boy who is not related to the sisters.
